Kelly Page started practicing Ashtanga yoga in 1998 and has been practicing close to 5 days a week since then. She practices in silence in the traditional Mysore style of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. She began her study with Dominic Corigliano in Encinitas, California. Upon moving to Seattle in 2000, she has been studying and practicing under David and Satya Garrigues at the Ashtanga Yoga School. While there, Kelly received her Ashtanga teaching certificate in 2004. There are less than 40 certified Ashtanga teachers in the world and Kelly has had the honor of studying with 4 of them, including most recently Lino Miele.
She teaches with a calm, easygoing style following the traditional ways and flow of Ashtanga’s Primary series. Her classes are flowing and moving with the emphasis on breath. With breath and a continual practice, you will eventually be able to do any yoga posture in time. Pattabhi Jois’ motto is 1% theory and 99% practice; this is true in Kelly’s teaching method.
When not teaching, you will find her spending time with her husband and baby girl or out catching waves. She was raised in California and lived in Hawaii for 4 years. With that comes her calming and happy personality, which is reflected in her teaching style.
